THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME

THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME at Live Arts
February 1-17, 2019

Christopher John Francis Boone is a 15-year-old mathematician. He’s brilliant, literal, absolute, and difficult. He fears being touched; he dreams of being an astronaut.

At 12:07 PM, Christopher discovers a slain dog named Wellington in his neighbors’ yard. When Christopher is accused of being the killer, he determines to uncover the truth. Even though he’s never ventured beyond the end of his road, he follows his discoveries into the heart of London. His quest is fraught with obstacles—both physical and emotional. Yet he persists in decoding this enigma with mathematical precision; and in doing so, he uncovers more hidden truths about his mother’s disappearance. If he can solve this curious mystery— and he can—he can do anything.

This adaptation by the acclaimed playwright Simon Stephens is intensely, innately theatrical; it is also funny and extremely moving.
