Some personal testimonials from previous students of the Live Arts Summer Theater Camps:

Leia Squillace, Age13
Class: Let’s Get Vocal (Musical Theater)
“I picked this class because I really like musical theater, and I like singing. The classes were very fun. We had Improv (you know, improvisation—that sort of thing), and Song Into Performance, where we picked two songs at the beginning and then worked through them in the class. My solo was ‘Till There Was You’ from The Music Man, one of my favorite musicals.”
Tiffany Ames, Age 12
Class: Let’s Get Vocal (Musical Theater)
“I’ve been singing for about 3 years now. I’ve been in chorus at school,
and at a district competition. I also sang the ‘Star Spangled Banner’ at
my 6th grade graduation. The classes we took were Chorus, where we
practiced a group number, Improv, it was fun to play at being a different
person, and I loved Solo Performance with Lydia Horan. It was one of the
best experiences ever, and I’m definitely going back next year.”
Victoria Laurencin, Age: 8
Class: Laugh Out Loud (Comedy)
“What I liked about the class was how you can meet new people. I
learned that there are different ways of being funny -– acting, just talking,
and when somebody tells a joke. My favorite way of being funny is to tell a
joke. My teachers were Jane and Morgan. They did funny stuff. Then Jane
left and Richard came, and he did funny stuff, too. We did mouth exercises
and body exercises, that’s about all. The body exercises were hard. We
had to touch our feet. For the mouth exercises we had to pretend we were
sitting down, and we had to make a box, while we were saying tongue
twisters.”
