Here’s how it works:
A group of artists meet at on the night of Friday, February 12 – Actors, Directors, Stage Mangers, Techies, Playwrights.

A theme for the plays is pulled from a hat.

Overnight, seven playwrights write plays seven new, 10-minute plays.

The plays are based on the theme and on other elements, also pulled from a hat, which include cast sizes (such as 2 women, 1 man) a special element for each play (such as a prop), and a inspirational sound bite (such as: “Look at that dress.” or “Vancouver”)

On Saturday morning, the playwrights are done, and then the directors pull their scripts they will direct form the hat.

The plays are cast by pulling the actors names form the hat. (How big is this hat?)

Saturday, February 13: One day to rehearse, costume, prop, cut, rewrite, memorize and tech all seven plays – the basic controlled chaos of real theater/real fast.

Saturday night. Packed house. Seven world premiers open and close in one night.
