Description:

American television, college, sex, marriage, and patriotism as seen through “alien” eyes? Pretty darn funny. Teens of today looking at everyday life in the 1950s? Looks funny to them. Young people tackling the language and ideas of Gore Vidal? Now we’re moving beyond funny “ha-ha” and right into funny “peculiar.” A Visit to a Small Planet, funny in all kinds of ways, represents both another success from LATTE, the inimitable Live Arts teen ensemble, and the beginning of something new: the first show in the Technical Mentor Apprentice Program. This program pairs each member of the production team with a teen apprentice. Says director Kay Leigh Ferguson, “Out apprentices in design for costumes, set, lights, sound, stage management, props, hair and makeup, puppetry, and master carpentry were hard at work long before auditions and were key players in shaping and then making the entire vision of the production.”
