Johannah Castleman was born and raised in New Orleans, went to university in Boulder, Colorado, worked in Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., and settled in Charlottesville to raise three lovely children who are now young adults. Her career was in film production before doing various things locally, such as teaching pilates and serving on the board of Charlottesville Opera. She continues to work in the arts by supporting various live productions in Charlottesville and producing documentary films with the Heritage Film Project. She has three children: her oldest daughter, Annabelle, attends George Washington University Law School; Georgia, who grew up on the Live Arts stage, is attending Boston University for a Master of Social Work; and Thomas, who has often been seen playing drums in the Live Arts pit bands, attends Brown University.
