TECH INTENSIVE #1
TWO DAYS of workshops & panels that will give you the skills to be confident in all technical aspects of the theater.
All workshops are FREE to volunteers who have worked 15 hours or more at live Arts in the last 6 months. $25 for everyone else.

LIGHTING
Class covers instruments, safety, how to hang a light, how to use shutters & gels, and how to read or create a plot.

STAGE MANAGEMENT
Class covers stage management protocol, set etiquette, how to call cues, and forms & procedures.

PAINT & DESIGN
Class covers surface preparation, color mixing, customizing glaze formulas, trowel technique, layering for depth

SOUND
Class covers how to cable a system, mic basics, passive vs active speakers, analog vs digital boards, what encoding to use to put your cues onto what medium.

COSTUME
Class covers reading and analyzing a script, breaking down the script for character changes, collaborating with the director, researching and sketching the costumes, creating mood boards and a color palette, the transformation of the actor in the fitting room, designing in the context of the set and lighting, and coordinating costumes for a final production.
