David Minton is a director, actor, instructor, playwright, and theatre manager
with over 45 years of professional theater experience in Dallas, New York, and
Washington, DC. David was the co-founder and artistic director of Lumina Studio
Theatre in the DC area, a high-concept youth Shakespeare company currently
celebrating its 27 th year of operation. David was the founder and board chair of
the Silver Spring Consortium that manages the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre for
Montgomery County. During the last 3 years with Live Arts, David has taught
three acting workshops, directed four plays for the Waterworks Festivals and
Locally Sourced Playwrights’ showcases, acted in THE CHILDREN (2022) and LOVE
AND INFORMATION (2023), and directed and acted in AN ILIAD (2024). He
received his M.A. in English literature from UVA and his MBA from the University
of Texas. David and his wife Kathi have cherished being a part of the Live Arts
family since moving here in 2021.
