Ernest Chambers

Ernest Chambers is a native of Halifax County, Virginia, and now resides in Charlottesville. Ernest is married to Rev. Christina C. Chambers and is the father of two sons, Scottie and Jordan. He is a graduate of Shenandoah University, where he studied education. While at Shenandoah, he received the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, whose recipients “demonstrate exemplary personal character and commitment to service above self.” Ernest teaches in the City of Charlottesville Public Schools and is a Center for Nonprofit Excellence (CNE) Board Development Academy graduate and former board chair of the African American Teaching Fellows of Albemarle County/Charlottesville City. In addition to his current board membership with Live Arts, he serves on the board of The First Tee of the Blue Ridge and is a member of the Human Rights Commission of the City of Charlottesville. Ernest has participated in three plays at Live Arts: GREY GARDENS, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, and RAGTIME.
