The Playwrights’ Lab is an interactive group that strives to support the development of plays in a nonjudgmental, inclusive process.
The Lab provides a space for local playwrights of every experience level to meet, share, read, give feedback, and discuss their work in a creative, supportive setting.
Interested playwrights are encouraged to contact facilitators Sean Michael McCord and Andrea Carey for information about the upcoming meeting schedule [lab-fac@livearts.org].
LAB EVENTS
Bake-Offs
Join the Lab Sunday, December 8, 4:30pm in the Gibson Theater for an evening of original short works inspired by THE WIZARD OF OZ, written by local playwrights and read by local actors.
Participating playwrights are sent “ingredients” as writing prompts inspired by Live Arts’ Season shows. Those playwrights will bring their freshly baked works to Live Arts for actors to read up to five pages from each piece.
Bake-Offs are free and open to the public!
